A tragic road accident occurred on the Chennai-Tiruchy national highway in Kallakurichi district early Sunday morning, claiming the lives of three family members from Ramanathapuram. The victims were identified as Sakthi, his mother Sujatha, and his brother Vetrivel, all residents of Kusavankudi in Ramanathapuram district. According to the police, the family was traveling in a car driven by Sakthi, who lost control of the vehicle near Sengurichi and collided with a roadside advertisement pole.
The impact of the crash was severe, resulting in the instantaneous deaths of Sakthi, Sujatha, and Vetrivel. Three other family members, including Hemalatha, 53, from Mandapam in Ramanathapuram district, sustained injuries and were rushed to the Ulundurpet General Hospital for treatment. The police have registered a case in connection with the incident.
The family was returning from Chennai Airport, where they had dropped off Hemalatha’s son, Harish.
