The Planning & Transformation Department and the Nagaland Public Works Department (NPWD) recently organised farewell programmes to honour senior officers retiring after decades of dedicated service to the State. The programmes, held on June 30, recognised the invaluable contributions of the outgoing officers. Vilhouhunuo Sachu and N. Likao Kikon were accorded farewell by the Planning & Transformation Department at Hotel Japfü.
Sachu retired as Additional Development Commissioner, while Kikon retired as Joint Development Commissioner. Incoming Joint Development Commissioner Tesinle Kent highlighted their professional careers, noting Sachu joined service in 1995 and retired in June 2026, and Kikon entered service in 1994 and rose to JDC in March 2026 before retiring the same month. The programme featured tributes from officers and staff, as well as a farewell address by Kikon. Heinswading, Deputy Development Commissioner, chaired the programme, which concluded with a vote of thanks by B. Chingmei Phom, Deputy Development Commissioner.
Meanwhile, the NPWD organised a farewell programme at its conference hall for Er. K. Imnajungba, Engineer in Chief, and **Er.
T. Sao Sangtam**, Chief Engineer (NH). In their addresses, the outgoing officers expressed gratitude to colleagues and urged younger engineers to serve with sincerity and commitment.
They shared experiences from their careers, emphasising the importance of prayer and perseverance in overcoming challenges. Senior officers commended them as dynamic leaders and instrumental figures in the department. The programme featured speeches, a group song by staff, and a presentation honouring their contributions. **Er.
Akule Pusa**, Executive Engineer, chaired the programme, which concluded with a vote of thanks by Addl. CE Er. Fineson Pojar.
