Retired senior police officer Chukhu Apa has urged youths not to lose focus and to work hard towards achieving success in life. Apa made the appeal while attending the Academic and Professional Achievers Award Ceremony organised by the Bengia Welfare Society (BWS) in Itanagar on Saturday. Citing his own life journey, he encouraged young people to remain focused on their goals. My journey started from the remote Kebi village in Keyi Panyor district. From Kebi to working in the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, and later serving in places like Kabul, Afghanistan, was possible only because of my hard work and education. Never lose sight of your goals, and keep dreaming of achieving greater heights in life, said Apa.
Renowned educationist and director of Sarvasya IAS Academy, Rajiv Singh, who attended the event as the special invitee, spoke in detail about the prospects in the civil services and the importance of integrity in pursuing such a career. If you are not sincere during your preparation for the civil services, you will not crack the examination. Even after entering the service, if you do not uphold integrity, your career will be at risk. Integrity is an integral part of life, said Singh. He also urged parents not to impose their career choices on their children. Let children decide what is best for them. Extend your full support, so that they can achieve their dreams. Give them wings to fly, he added.
BWS chairman Bengia Tabb in his address said that the society’s primary focus is on career development and academic excellence of members of the Bengia clan. We want to focus on career building and academic excellence. We want to ensure that members of our clan continue to shine in every field, said Tabb. He also stated that the Bengia Welfare Society would always play a constructive role in society-building and would never take any step that could hurt any other group or clan.
On the occasion, clan members who earned promotions in their services, political achievers, and meritorious students were felicitated. Among the Class 10 students, Bengia Heiuntsang, Bengia Nite, Bengia Upai, Hanu Bengia, Bengia Naku, Bengia Oka, and Bengia Gungma were felicitated.
