A civilian lost his life in an explosion that occurred near the Line of Control (LoC) in the Gulmarg area of Baramulla district in north Kashmir on Saturday. According to officials, the victim has been identified as Zabir Ahmad Bajad, the son of Mohammad Rafiq Bajad, a resident of Galibal, Chandoosa in Baramulla district. The incident is believed to have occurred when an unexploded shell went off, although the exact circumstances surrounding the blast are still unclear.
The Army and the police have not provided further details about the incident. The unexploded shell was reportedly lying close to the Asha Post near the LoC in Gulmarg. The incident resulted in the tragic loss of one civilian life.
