In a significant breakthrough, the Arunachal Pradesh Police have recovered 14 stolen two-wheelers and taken four minors into custody in connection with a theft case. According to Capital Superintendent of Police Jummar Basar, a coordinated operation was launched after a theft case was registered at the Itanagar police station on Thursday. This led to the apprehension of four children in conflict with the law, aged between 10 and 14 years, in accordance with legal protocols.
The minors were taken into custody based on the information gathered during the investigation. Following the disclosures made by the apprehended minors, a police team recovered 14 stolen two-wheelers, including a gearless scooter involved in the primary case, from various locations across the Itanagar Capital Region and neighbouring Papum Pare district. The recovered vehicles include several with tampered registration, engine, and chassis numbers, which are currently being verified by specialised units to establish actual ownership details.
Once the verification process is complete, the vehicles will be handed over to their rightful owners upon the completion of all due legal formalities.
