West Kameng Deputy Commissioner Dilip Kumar emphasized the importance of timely vaccination for children in the 0-5 years age group, stating it is crucial for safeguarding child health and reducing preventable diseases. Kumar made this statement during a meeting of the District Task Force on Routine Immunization held at the DC’s conference hall in Bomdila on Wednesday. He urged all concerned departments and members of the District Health Society to remain committed to their assigned roles and ensure the timely implementation of Routine Immunization activities for improved health outcomes.
Kumar also stressed the need for the timely submission of accurate and authentic data to facilitate effective monitoring and planning. District Medical Officer Dr. R.D. Thongchi advised frontline workers to intensify vaccination outreach efforts and maintain family-wise registers to ensure error-free record keeping and better tracking of beneficiaries.
The meeting reviewed monthly progress reports and achievements under the Routine Immunization programme through a detailed PowerPoint presentation. The forthcoming polio vaccination campaign scheduled for 26 June was also highlighted, with stakeholders urged to ensure maximum community mobilisation and participation to achieve complete coverage of eligible children. Kumar emphasized coordinated efforts among the Health, ICDS, Education, and field functionaries to strengthen awareness and ensure that no eligible child is left out of the immunization drive.
The meeting was attended by DRCHO Dr. T. Droma, WHO RRT Dr. K. Pallavi Koyan, DCPU PO Rinchin Megejee, senior medical officers, and medical officers from various blocks.
