The Human Rights of Arunachal (HRA) has appealed to the governor to constitute a physical and aerial survey team to assess the ground situation in the Taksing area of Upper Subansiri district. This appeal comes after contradictory public statements were made by union minister Kiren Rijiju, Nah Welfare Society president Keru Chader, and Padma Shri awardee Techi Gubin regarding the situation along the India-China border in Arunachal Pradesh. The HRA stated that an independent survey would help establish the facts and address public concerns. The organisation believes that the contradictory statements have caused confusion among the people in the state and the rest of the country.
In a press statement, the HRA emphasized that as a union minister, Rijiju has a constitutional and moral responsibility to provide accurate information and safeguard the interests of the nation. The organisation called upon all individuals to make statements responsibly and only after proper verification. The HRA also expressed full confidence in the Indian armed forces, saying that they will continue to safeguard every inch of India’s territory. Furthermore, the organisation appealed to all political parties, especially the Indian National Congress, to raise the issue during the forthcoming monsoon session of the Parliament. The HRA urged Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge, and all MPs to discuss the matter in the national interest.
The organisation reiterated that Arunachal Pradesh is an integral and inseparable part of India and urged all elected representatives to remain vigilant and work together to protect India’s territorial integrity.
