A meeting of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust is scheduled for July 6, 2026, at Mani Ramdas Chavni in Ayodhya. The meeting, set to begin at 3 p.m., will discuss the preliminary report of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed to probe the Ram Temple donation theft. The SIT’s report and the resignations of trustees in its wake will be key points of discussion. Sources close to the matter have confirmed that the meeting will also address the appointment of a CEO to manage the Ram Temple affairs.

The meeting’s five-point agenda includes a discussion of the resignations of general secretary Champat Rai and trustee Anil Mishra, both of whom have been at the center of the controversy surrounding the theft. The two officials, along with special invitee Gopal Rao, have been questioned by both the SIT and the police as part of the ongoing investigations. Despite this, no FIR has been registered against the three officials.

Lawyers from the Faizabad Bar Association have submitted a written complaint to the police seeking an FIR against Champat Rai, Anil Mishra, and Gopal Rao. The agenda for the meeting also includes a discussion of the unaudited income-expenses statement and balance sheet for the financial year 2025-26, as well as other financial details and their approval.

The meeting is taking place amid two parallel investigations into the allegations, with the SIT’s tenure extended until the end of July. Eight persons named in an FIR filed following the SIT’s preliminary report have been arrested and remanded to judicial custody. Police have also recovered important evidence linked to the donation theft from the house of one of the key accused, Avinash Shukla.

Trust chief Mahant Nritya Gopal Das, who has been attending previous meetings virtually due to age-related issues, is currently unwell and recovering at a Lucknow hospital. The hospital has stated that he is expected to be discharged in two to three days. Mani Ramdas Chavni, the venue of the meeting, is the ashram of Mahant Nritya Gopal Das.
