The Nagaland Sub-Junior, Pre-Junior and Junior Pencak Silat team has delivered an impressive performance at the 14th Sub-Junior, Pre-Junior and Junior National Pencak Silat Championship 2026, securing a total of nine medals. The championship was held in Nashik, Maharashtra, from June 25 to 28. According to General Secretary and Head Coach of the Nagaland Pencak Silat Association, Deep Kumar, the team’s medal haul was a notable achievement.
The team won four silver medals in the Tanding (sparring) events, with Lusa Yingpithonger, Mughatoli Awomi, Ruungunuo Elizabeth, and Reevan Jaishi contributing to the tally. In addition to the silver medals, the team also secured five bronze medals in the Artistic category. Kambo Kiba, Tethuilungbo Newmai, Lusa Yingpithonger, Ruungunuo Elizabeth, and Reevan Jaishi were the winners of the bronze medals.
