The Viksit Bharat Guarantee for Rozgar Ajeevika Mission Grameen (VB-G RAM G) scheme was launched nationwide from Mukkavaripalli village in Obulavaripalli mandal of Tirupati district, Andhra Pradesh, on July 2, 2026. Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, and Union Minister for Agriculture Shivraj Singh Chouhan launched the scheme by laying the foundation stone for a farm pond, signaling the renewed version of the rural employment guarantee scheme’s focus on farmers’ welfare and rural development. The scheme aims to provide a minimum wage of ₹300 per day to workers.

The Indian government has allocated ₹422 crore for Andhra Pradesh to develop roads and build pucca houses in the state. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also sanctioned funds for linking villages through 146 rural roads and building 74,212 houses in Andhra Pradesh under the PMAY. The Union Minister offered to procure 2.16 lakh metric tonnes of Totapuri mangoes through the market intervention scheme, supporting Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s dream of making Rayalaseema a horticultural hub.

The delegates planted saplings of ten varieties, including teak, neem, and eucalyptus, at the venue, and a model magic drain was shown to the Union Minister. A photo exhibition at the venue showcased pictures of success stories from Andhra Pradesh, model panchayats, zero liquid discharge panchayats, and geo-tagging for greater transparency. Union Minister of State for Agriculture Kamlesh Paswan, Union Minister of State for Rural Development Pemmasani Chandrasekhar, and other state ministers participated in the launch event.

The VB-G RAM G scheme is expected to bring significant development to rural areas, with a focus on farmers’ welfare and rural employment.
