The Lokapriya Gopinath Bardoloi International Airport in Guwahati has achieved a significant milestone with the commencement of international flight operations from Terminal 2. This development marks a new chapter in the airport’s journey, enhancing global connectivity for the region. International flight operations from Terminal 2 began on Thursday, with the Guwahati–Paro flight being the first international departure and the first international arrival coming from Singapore. The occasion was commemorated with a traditional Assamese welcome, which included a gamosa felicitation, lamp lighting, cake cutting, sapling distribution, and welcome drinks for arriving passengers.
Key stakeholders, including representatives from CISF, customs, immigration, BCAS, airlines, and airport teams, attended the ceremony to celebrate this achievement. According to an airport official,
