Three sub-health centres in Kebali, Balek, and Horupahar in Lower Dibang Valley district were officially inaugurated on Monday by MLA Mutchu Mithi. The centres, which were notified by the government in 2014, are expected to improve access to healthcare services for local residents. MLA Mithi directed the health department to ensure that all essential medicines are stocked at the sub-centres, emphasizing the importance of timely and effective healthcare delivery.
He also urged villagers to cooperate with the Health Department to ensure the success of the initiative. Furthermore, MLA Mithi assured the public that he would take up the matter of sanctioning funds for infrastructure development of the sub-centres with the government. During the inauguration ceremony, Deputy Commissioner Fwwrman Brahma highlighted the importance of vaccination in preventing cervical cancer.
He appealed to parents and guardians to get their children aged 9 to 14 years vaccinated with the HPV vaccine. The programme was attended by DMO Dr Worar Taku, officers from the Health and PHE&WS Departments, PRI members, and members of the public.
